ENVIROMENTAL AND SUSTAINABILITY EFFICIENCIES
The DAF range has a convenient maintenance feature which is integral to the design of the user-friendly machine. The design of the machine enables quick and easy service and cleaning but also ensures an elevated level of availability and optimum performance.
The range of excavators delivers elevated levels of productivity with reduced running costs.
New computerised systems help efficiency with less fuel operating costs and this in turn helps with the carbon footprint. This in turn reduces gases and helps overall with the impact on our environment.
With the introduction of better efficiency this extends the life spam of the machine. Less fuel, providing savings in this field which is crucial financially and environmentally important particularly with the cost-of-living crisis at present.
We at TBF Thompson recognise that providing our customers with a quality service while minimizing our impact on the environment from our operation is critical for our business. With this in mind, we are committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure we continuously improve our business practices.
To achieve this, we have developed and will maintain an Integrated Management System that will meet the requirements of the current version of ISO9001 and ISO14001.
We adopt a forward-looking view on future business decisions which may have impacts on our ability to provide customers with a quality service and minimize environmental impact.
We train our staff in the requirements of the Integrated Management System and their responsibility in maintaining and improving it.
TBF use the following at their locations to recycle and have an influence on our carbon footprint.
• Paper – Shredbank visit each of the sites every 4 weeks and shred and recycle our wastepaper. This is kept to a minimal with most of our invoices/statements being emailed to customers and BACs payments made to suppliers.
• Cardboard – Riverridge visit each month and this waste is recycled at their depots.
• Waste Oil is collected by Enva – who in turn recycle this.
• Batteries – We store these in battery boxes and deliver them to T-Met who in turn recycle these.
• Solar Panels - we have these installed at some of our sites and are aiming to have these fitted throughout our group.
