Thwaites Dumpers

One of our oldest franchises, we have represented this Birmingham based manufacturer of site dumpers since 1977. Then the most popular selling model was the 2 ton four wheel drive. Today it is the 6 ton with a power swivel skip which allows you to tip the load to either side. Their range of dumpers start at 1 ton with the largest being the 10 ton with a variety of forward tip and power swivel models.

Following on from Thwaites highly successful 2 tonne range, the 1 ton Hi-Tip skip is fully hydrostatic utilising poclain wheel motors and powered by a Yanmar 3 cylinder engine which is located under a locakable bonnet. Thwaites has opted for a traditional automotive style in favour of hand operated controls used by other manufacturers and the operator can benefit from a weatherproof instruction book which is stored within a proper compartment behind the leg guard. Research with customers operating this type of dumper confirmed the need for a machine that avoided additional hand controls where possible. This ensures that the driver is able to have full control of the machine with both hands on the steering wheel when driving.

Additionally, Thwaites have designed the new 1 Tonne using steel external components. This will withstand the accidental damage that a product of this compact nature needs to cope with when working in confined areas. Thwaites belief is that dumpers are best designed using steel in the areas of vulnerability.
There are some optional extras to consider when purchasing a 1 ton dumper such as road lightig equipment and a towing bracket. The machine can also be fitted with grassland, sand tyres and narrow tyres.
