DAF LF Series
Agile in heavy traffic, easy to get in and out of, and
low curb weights for class-leading payloads. All in all,
the DAF LF series is the perfect partner for urban and
regional distribution. Yet these powerful and economical
vehicles, with their tight turning circle and easy manoeuverability,
are equally suited to long-distance lightweight transport
and even special applications such as municipal sanitation
and fire service operations.
Flexible and efficient four- and six-cylinder PACCAR engines
power the LF series. With a choice of power outputs from
99 kW (135 hp) to 184 kW (250 hp). Each of them offers
excellent pulling power, especially at low engine speeds.
And as modern, common rail diesel injection engines they
are both fuel efficient and quiet.
Class leading Payload
The use of high-grade steel and smart
engineering has resulted in a strong but light chassis
design, offering
best-in-class payloads across a range of Gross Vehicle
Weights from 6 to 21 tonnes. The option of steel suspension
or electronically controlled air suspension, together
with a large number of possible wheel bases, means there’s
plenty of choice to fit every superstructure. The front
axle has been designed with considerable reserve capacity
to prevent overloading in case of partial loads; important
for distribution trucks that are unloaded from the rear.
Flexible chassis
For heavier inner city transport such as beer distribution
or garbage collection, the LF series even offers a 21
ton three axle version with steered third axle, which
combines excellent manoeuvrability with a payload of
around 15.5 tonnes. In addition, the LF is also available
as a tractor unit for a gross combination weight of up
to 28 tonnes. An ideal tractor for many applications
such as city trailers or car transporters.
Cabs
Whether you choose for a Day or Sleeper Cab, the LF
is immediately recognizable as a DAF. And its familiar
interior
means that all the controls are there where expected. In
fact, the design and quality of the finish more resemble
that of a top-class luxury car; and they’ll stay
looking that way for years, resulting in high trade-in
value.
Drivers will appreciate features like the comfortable
seating position, storage spaces for delivery notes and
roadmaps, and a large glass area for a perfect view of
the traffic.
